I want to start this entry with quick note of positive energy. Kelly needs the positive vibes sent her way. If you were thinking of sending a note of encouragement, I know she would appreciate it. All notes can be sent to careforcolin@gmail.com. Some days you just need to have people share positive messages with you.
This week has a lot in store. Over the last couple of days, Colin had surgery, was moved into the ICU and had to go back on the ventilator. A secondary infection occured and it possibly was due to the small hole they discovered in his esophagus. The infection lead to the 2nd surgery he had last week and the possible surgery he will have tomorrow once he is strong enough. I am sorry I am leaving a lot of the details. There is a lot going on right now. His brothers all all in town now as well.
Please remember to send positive notes of encouragement and keep your prayers coming. I personally pray for Colin's complete recovery, I pray for strength for Kelly and the kids, I pray for my mother in law (who is an angel and has been by Kelly's side), I pray for Lee and Nathalie (two more angels) and I pray and thank God for all of you, each day.
This page is dedicated to helping a man who at every turn has helped others. He is a loving father, husband, brother, musician and friend. Recently Colin was not feeling well and went to the hospital with what seemed like flu-like symptoms. As we started this blog, Colin was in the ICU with what the doctors are calling a “mysterious” progressive lung infection. We now mourn the loss of a great soul. Memorial details are below.
About this Blog - About Colin
This blog was built to update everyone with Colin's medical progress and to have a place where people can share information. When I first started the blog, the donations were thought to be for all of the medical expenses. Then Colin had an extended hospital stay (a lot of which was ICU and surgery). Now, with this tremendous loss, the funds donated are to help Kelly maintain the everyday family expenses/bills. Any additional funds will be directed to the children's funds through the donation function on this page. We will continue to maintain this page as different events are scheduled. Please continue to check back. I just wanted to let everyone know how very grateful the family is and how the prayers and support help so much during these very dark days. A little information about Colin. He is a father. He is a husband. He is a brother. He is a musician. He is a friend to many in the New Orleans area and beyond. He works in the service industry. Through his many years as a bartender/manager, he has touched so many lives by just being Colin. He loves his family and he loves his city! Pre-Katrina, he ran Nick’s Bar and was in a local band. Although Nick’s bar and the band did not survive Katrina, he believed in New Orleans and was one of the first residents back in the city. He helped many people transition back to the city that he loves and calls home. He has always been a friend to everyone. If you needed anything, he would be there for you. If you would like to contribute, please do so using the donation option on this blog. You can also post the blog link on your facebook account. Kelly's spirits have been lifted all of the posts and pictures. Blog and pictures below:
Hey Colin,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to give you a shout out. We stopped by to reorganize your garage today. Good luck trying to find any of your tools! When you get better, I'll show you where everything is. I had a great time playing with Lucy and Elliot today. I wiped bird poop off of Lucy's swing, and she supervised Max's swinging. Her grade for him was a B-, less saying Weeeeeee, and more swinging higher.
Lucy also showed Max how to throw a frizbee (his form was a little rough), pulled him around in the covered wagon, and she even let him ride her scooter (although she pointed out that he really should have been wearing a helmet for safety) Lucy wrote Max 2 valentines, one to her from him, and one from him to her..what did it say? I love Lucy of course! When you get better, the Guinni are on me! Rock on, Pete
